This is rather good. Jonathan Miller is a thoughtful and genuinely interested inquisitor, and Denys Turner gives a good account of the classical (Thomist) arguments for theism. It was my first introduction to Turner, and as a result I got hold of his book on Aquinas. Mind you, I’m glad I’d heard him speak first: he writes rather as he speaks (long, meandering but always intriguing sentences), so it’s useful to have his voice in your head as you’re reading.
